MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Walser Automotive Group’s Paul Walser will take the reins as vice chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) in 2020. Walser was elected to the role following a board meeting by the association earlier this month. The move puts Walser on deck to be chairman of NADA in 2021.
Walser, who currently serves as NADA’s industry relations committee chairman, said he’s honored by the opportunity and personally connected with every member of the NADA board to better understand the concerns and challenges facing franchised dealers today.
Current NADA vice chairman and CEO of Ricart Automotive Group Rhett Ricart was elected chairman for 2020. Both Ricart and Walser will accept their new positions in February 2020.
Walser got his start in automotive in 1974, selling new vehicles at Town’s Edge Ford. Today, he serves as Walser Automotive Group’s company chairman, overseeing acquisitions and manufacturer relations for the group started by his late father. Paul Walser’s brother Andrew Walser currently serves as the company’s CEO.
Minneapolis-based Walser Automotive Group ranks No. 56 on Automotive News' list of the top 150 dealership groups based in the U.S. in 2018.
