Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator Michael Bennet to Keynote at The Arcview Group New York Cannabis Investor Forum

SAN FRANCISCO--()--On the heels of the historic passing of the Secure And Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act by the U.S. House of Representatives, The Arcview Group announced that the bill’s U.S. Senate cosponsor and Democratic Presidential Candidate, Michael Bennet of Colorado, will keynote the Arcview Investor Forum: The Evolution of Cannabis: 2020 in New York on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the event, which runs from Wednesday, Oct. 2 to Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.

Bennet will share his vision for the country and ambitious policy agenda, including the future of cannabis reform, with Arcview members, investors, and entrepreneurs. Immediately following the discussion, registered attendees will have the opportunity to speak with the Senator in an exclusive meet and greet.

“We are facing a moment in our country when we can either harness opportunity to bring our economy into the 21st century, or allow our broken politics to continue to block progress. I believe we can fix Washington with the right leadership, and also transform our economy to work for everyone—and the cannabis industry is no exception,” said U.S. Senator and Presidential Candidate Michael Bennet. “That’s why I’ve fought for years for legal cannabis companies in Colorado and around the country to have access to the banking system like any other business and limit the public safety risk of operating in cash. It’s also why I led the charge to legalize hemp in the last Farm Bill, so growers and entrepreneurs could contribute meaningfully to the economy. I'm looking forward to discussing these issues and how they play a role in education, health care, mass incarceration, and my broader agenda at the Arcview forum."

As a member of the U.S. Senate Committees on Finance and Agriculture, Bennet championed the legalization of hemp in the 2018 Farm Bill and is a cosponsor of the SAFE Banking Act and Marijuana Justice Act, which would end the federal prohibition on cannabis and reverse decades of drug policies that have disproportionately affected low-income communities and communities of color.
