LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Continuing its mission to improve communities around the world, the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) today announced its addition of 29 new Casa Herbalife Nutrition programs in 20 countries this year. With the addition of these new partners, more than 100,000 children will benefit by receiving good nutrition and nutrition education daily. The foundation has committed $1 million to these 29 new partners established this year, and is on track to donate more than $4.4 million in total grants to the worldwide program before the end of 2019.
“We’re extremely proud to be able to change the lives of even more people in need by expanding our community which aims to instill good eating habits for children, so they may have a healthier future,” said Jenny Perez, Executive Director, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation.
The new 2019 global partners span across 20 countries, including the United States, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, England, Indonesia, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Malaysia, Mexico, Serbia, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, and Uruguay. In addition to providing these organizations with healthy food subsidies, the $1 million in grants from HNF will also contribute towards facility and kitchen renovations, nutrition staffing, housing foster children, construction of clean water facilities to fight water and food contamination, trade education for teenagers and their families to be able to make a living.
With this growth of 29 new partners, the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program now supports close to 170 organizations around the world. This increasing number of partnerships allows further access to good nutrition and education for children and their families.
Established in 2005, the Casa Herbalife Nutrition program was originally committed to bringing good nutrition to children worldwide living in orphanages through after school centers and other nonprofits. The program has since rapidly progressed, providing grants to organizations ranging from hospitals, schools and other educational facilities. In addition to initial financial grants made by the HNF, the organizations also receive local financial and volunteer support from Herbalife Nutrition independent distributors and employees.
The Herbalife Nutrition Foundation also supports disaster relief efforts by partnering with the American Red Cross and other local organizations to increase food, clothing, blankets, supplies, housing and safe spaces for affected children and their communities.
