MIAMI & DONAUESCHINGEN, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Biedermann Motech, the leader in pedicle screw technology and pioneer in the spinal market for more than 30 years, today announced the further expansion of its product portfolio of advanced solutions for spinal surgery with the integration of the DELTA XS™ Shank Based Retractor System into its iMAS360™ Procedure as well as the launch of the MOSS VRS Pedicle Screw System, at the North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, September 25-27, 2019.
The DELTA XS Retractor System is fully integrated into the workflow of the mini-open, microsurgical iMAS360 Procedure and is attached to the screw shanks of the MOSS 100® Modular Pedicle Screw System after screw placement, optimizing the surgical field and offering surgeons the option to distract the disc space for introduction of the TELIX K® Steerable Interbody System.
iMAS360 is a mini-open, microsurgical 360 fusion procedure for the lumbar spine, which was developed by neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Masson, Orlando and incorporates advanced implants and instrumentation to create a less invasive, muscle sparing procedural solution that allows for anterior and posterior fusion, decompression, and restoration of lordosis through a small, midline skin incision.
Biedermann Motech will also launch MOSS VRS® – The Next Generation Pedicle Screw Technology™ to the US market at NASS 2019. The MOSS VRS Pedicle Screw System features Next Generation Pedicle Screw Technology, which allows the surgeon to lock the polyaxial angle of the pedicle screw at any angle, at any time during surgery. This provides surgeons with unmatched intraoperative options using a single, highly functional implant.
In contrast to traditional pedicle screw systems, which include a wide range of different screw types, the MOSS VRS Pedicle Screw can be locked and unlocked as and when required by the surgeon during complex correction and reconstruction maneuvers.
”With the further expansion of the iMAS360 procedure and the introduction of the MOSS VRS Next Generation Pedicle Screw System, we will be launching two novel products, that offer surgeons multiple additional options in the fields of advanced less invasive surgery and complex spinal surgery, respectively,” said Markku Biedermann, Chairman of Biedermann Motech, Inc.
The unique and proprietary technologies of the DELTA XS Retractor System, the MOSS 100 Modular Pedicle Screw System, the TELIX K Steerable Interbody System and the MOSS VRS System are licensed from Biedermann Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, a company which holds a broad and extensive patent and technology portfolio, and are exclusively available through Biedermann Motech.
Biedermann Motech will showcase the fully integrated iMAS360 Procedure and the MOSS VRS System at the upcoming North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, September 25-27, 2019 at booth # 2230. Surgeons will be available to discuss the clinical benefits of the IMAS360 Procedure and the MOSS VRS System.
