CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lex Group, one of the largest flat-rolled steel and metal distributors in North America, today announced that it has signed a new, three-year contract with its labor union. The agreement includes bonus incentives via production and efficiency programs to help employees share in productivity gains of the company. This contract is just another in its more than 50 years of business that mutually benefits company and employee, and continues its track record of never having a work stoppage as a result of contract negotiations.
“Lex Group has always maintained strong employee relations both with factory and corporate employees, as it is a core value of our company to provide a safe, productive work environment that appreciates and rewards hard work and attention to productivity,” said Bill Douglas, president of Lex Central, a division of Lex Group. “At the end of the day, we really do operate as a family and we are proud to offer these new financial incentives without having to compromise healthcare or any other existing benefit for union workers.”
This three-year renewal includes the production and efficiency bonus program, as well as a collaborative safety initiative that allows employees to make suggestions on improving safety concerns that will also include a financial incentive if those safety measures are implemented. Other features of the contract include bonuses for following procedures and being OSHA trained to help employees understand the importance of safety and reducing injury. Lex Group is proud to have loyal, long standing relationships with employees and believes this contract will help contribute to that tradition.
