NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HCA Healthcare (NYSE: HCA) announced today the appointment of Jennifer Berres as senior vice president and chief human resource officer effective November 1, 2019. She will be replacing John M. Steele, who will retire early next year.
An experienced executive with HCA Healthcare, Berres has spent her career within the HCA Healthcare family starting with Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in 1993. Over the years, she has excelled in a number of human resource roles, including positions in HCA Healthcare’s Physician Services Group, West Florida Division, and currently as vice president, Human Resources Business Partners and HR Strategy where she leads a team of more than 600 human resource leaders across multiple lines of business.

Berres earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida and Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University. She is active in industry groups as well as community agencies, including her current role on the board of the Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee. Berres lives in Brentwood, Tennessee, and has two grown children.
John Steele is retiring after 25 years with HCA Healthcare. Over the years, he held numerous leadership roles and led transformational human resource strategies on behalf of the company.
