Vizient Presents Clinical Performance Awards at the 2019 Connections Education Summit

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc. today announced the winners of their Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award and Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award for 2019. The awards, which recognized the outstanding performance of member health systems, were presented during the 2019 Vizient Connections Education Summit held Sept. 16-19 in Las Vegas.

The Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award is given annually to comprehensive academic medical centers, large, specialized complex care medical centers, complex care medical centers and community-based medical centers that demonstrate superior performance, as measured by the Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking program, which has been calculated annually since 2005. The Vizient Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award measures the quality of outpatient care in five domains: access to care, capacity and throughput, quality and efficiency, continuum of care, and equity. The composite scoring system uses practice and patient-level data from the Vizient-AAMC Clinical Practice Solutions Center, the Vizient Access Database, the Clinical Data Base, and core measures data.
