Watch Communications Announces the Acquisition of Beyond Media Networks

This acquisition expands Watch Communications’ footprint into the state of Illinois and continues their efforts to deliver high quality, fast broadband to rural America

LIMA, Ohio--()--Watch Communications today announced the acquisition of Beyond Media Networks, an Illinois-based Wireless Internet Service Provider serving rural communities in Eastern Illinois and Western Indiana. The acquisition brings over 2000 subscribers and expands Watch’s operations into its third state.

"We are honored to welcome the Beyond Media team and their customers to the Watch family,” said Chris Daniels, President and CEO of Watch Communications. “Beyond brings a solid baseline from which we will build our Illinois and Western Indiana operations, fulfilling a component of our mission to deliver reliable, high-speed broadband Internet to rural America using fixed wireless and fiber solutions."

This news comes on the tail of the recent announcement by Watch and Microsoft regarding their partnership as part of the Microsoft Airband Initiative. As an Airband partner, Watch will leverage multiple technologies to deliver broadband solutions to areas of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois that are currently unserved or underserved.
