Anthem, Inc. Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) in Recognition of its Commitment to Building A Healthier, More Sustainable Future

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Anthem, Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) was named to the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The recognition acknowledges Anthem’s dedication to improving the lives of the people in the communities it serves, continually improving the sustainability of its business and providing equal opportunities for all. The DJSI, which represents the gold standard for corporate sustainability, is based on an analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance. This marks the second consecutive year Anthem’s leadership in sustainability has been recognized by DJSI.

  • Together with the Anthem Foundation, promoting an inherent commitment to enhancing the health and overall well-being of individuals and families in communities around the nation. With $40 million of active community programming in place, the Foundation is focused on addressing social drivers of health, including food insecurity, housing, transportation and education. With more than 76,000 volunteer hours, Anthem and the Anthem Foundation associates are committed to making a positive difference where they both work and live.
  • Committing to sourcing 100% of the electricity we use with wind and solar energy by 2025, and joining the RE100, a global initiative bringing together influential businesses focused on renewable energy.
  • Continuing to implement programs that make healthcare more accessible and affordable. Examples include the creation of Anthem’s new pharmacy benefits provider, IngenioRx, and expanding our value based care programs.
