BOSTON & BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom--()--ClearMotion Inc., a global transportation technology company, has appointed Carl-Peter Forster to the Board of Directors and Christian Steinmann as CEO, effective immediately. Steinmann succeeds Shakeel Avadhany, who co-founded ClearMotion and served as CEO since inception. Avadhany will now lead corporate development activities as Chief Business Officer.

Carl-Peter Forster brings more than 30 years of industry insight gained as an executive and board member at BMW, Opel, GM Europe, Tata Motors, Geely, and Volvo Cars. “We are thrilled to welcome Carl-Peter as a member of our board,” said Jonathan Ross, Board Director at ClearMotion. “His industry knowledge will drive insight into our decision-making as we chart our future.”

Prior to joining ClearMotion, Steinmann spent 21 years at Continental AG, where he worked across numerous product lines, including hybrid electric powertrain, body electronic systems, interior HMI, and most recently, electronic suspension systems. As CEO, Steinmann’s initial focus is industrialization of ClearMotion’s first product, efficiently scaling the organization, and top-line growth.

“After experiencing proactive ride for the first time, it became obvious that ClearMotion provides differentiated value for the automotive consumer of today and tomorrow,” said Christian Steinmann, ClearMotion CEO. “As transportation evolves to a connected, shared and eventually autonomous world, ClearMotion products will become vital to improving the in-vehicle experience. I am excited to work with Shak, Zack, and our talented team to bring this technology to market.”

“Christian’s unique balance of creative vision, successful execution, and breadth of product experience give us the tools to navigate our next phase of growth,” said Shakeel Avadhany, Chief Business Officer at ClearMotion.

Under Avadhany’s leadership, ClearMotion raised over $250M and built a technology portfolio that includes proactive ride, active seating, and RoadMotion™, a road surface mapping software product.
