MONTICELLO, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Resorts World Catskills Casino Resort, New York’s newest and closest integrated casino resort to Manhattan, today announced that the official opening of its sportsbook lounge will take place on September 5th, in conjunction with the start of the NFL season. Resorts World Catskills is one of only four commercial casinos in New York State currently authorized by statute to offer sports betting.
The now opened state-of-the-art sportsbook enables patrons to watch and place wagers on a variety of sporting events. The sportsbook lounge is known as Sportsbook 360, which is reflected with the more than 35, 75-inch flat screen televisions, arranged in a 360-degree arc around a central bar, anchored by a 9’ x 16’ high-definition screen. Sportsbook 360 encompasses roughly 6,000 square feet of the casino floor, making it easily accessible to patrons who are playing on any of the 1,600 slot machines or one of more than 150 live table games. Sportsbook 360 includes a bar and more than 100 seats, and patrons have access to cashier windows and self-serve betting kiosks to place bets on their favorite teams.
“We are thrilled to offer patrons access to Sportsbook 360 for a unique, integrated gaming and lounge experience within our casino resort,” said Ryan Eller, President and CEO of Resorts World Catskills. “We are committed to providing unparalleled gaming in the region and the sophistication of our sportsbook perfectly complements our diverse gaming offerings, allowing patrons to watch games, place wagers, and enjoy even more entertainment and traditional casino gaming, all within close proximity to the New York Metro Area.”
The addition of Sportsbook 360 is part of the continued growth of Resorts World Catskills and the destination resort campus, which was preceded by the opening of The Alder, a 101-room modern lifestyle hotel, and the recent addition of The Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark. Resorts World Catskills’ offerings will also include a Rees Jones-redesigned golf course which is under construction.
The celebratory event will begin with an opening reception at 6:30 p.m. for patrons of Sportsbook 360, followed by the ceremonial first bets at 7:00 p.m. by Santana Moss, former New York Jets Wide Receiver, and Larry Johnson and John Starks, former New York Knicks players. The excitement continues with a Q&A with Moss, Johnson and Starks, sports trivia at Doubletop Bar and Grill, and a watch party with the NFL and NBA alums, including bar specials to kick-off the first NFL game of the season with the Green Bay Packers taking on the Chicago Bears at 8:20 p.m. The first 30 patrons who attend the kick-off watch party and show their bet slips will receive a Sportsbook 360 swag bag. Patrons who visit Sportsbook 360 throughout the weekend and place a bet will each receive a Sportsbook 360 hat, while supplies last.
