The Health Depot Association Awards Scholarships to Three Members’ Dependents

Funds to be applied to studies in biological science, nursing and design

PLANO, Texas--()--The Health Depot Association, a national, non-profit organization of entrepreneurs, self-employed professionals and contractors committed to providing access to benefits and resources to its members, has awarded college scholarships to three different recipients.

Sonia Chinedu, a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine and daughter of Blessing Ehiemere, received a $2,500 scholarship from the Health Depot Association, administered by Scholarship America. She plans to continue her studies in Biological Science.

Taylor Gentile, a senior at Central Connecticut State University and daughter of William and Jaime Abbott, was also awarded $2,500. Taylor is working toward a degree in Nursing.

The final recipient of $2,500, Lindsey Graves, a student at Indiana University and daughter of Dawn Graves, plans to graduate in 2020 with a major in Comprehensive Design.

“We are dedicated to helping the families of our members pursue additional education opportunities,” said Doug Abbott, Health Depot Association president. “Education underpins the success of the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs and we congratulate these scholars on their accomplishments to date.”

The scholarships were open to dependents, age 26 and under, of active Health Depot Association members. Consideration was based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and work experience. Scholarship America is the third-party administrator for the scholarship program.
