PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Owlcam, the leading AI-powered crash-detecting dash cam offering real-time video protection for people, cars and trucks, announced two new products: Owlcam Pro, which protects professionals and small businesses, as well as Owlcam+ for video-integrated fleet management and telematics solutions.
Video is a must-have tool for professional drivers and fleet managers to protect against theft and liability. Owlcam is powered by best-in-class technology including dual HD interior and front-facing cameras, Edge Artificial Intelligence and 4G LTE connectivity. As a result, Owlcam is the only dash cam that makes video actionable: Stopping break-ins and catching thieves, providing verifiable video evidence to police and insurers and keeping drivers safe in the event of an accident.
“If an accident involves a professional driver or business, the business is frequently found at fault, regardless of what actually happened. This results in drivers losing their jobs, businesses crippled by insurance costs and real people losing their livelihoods,” said Andy Hodge, Owlcam Founder and CEO. “We saw an opportunity for Owlcam to help professionals, businesses and fleet managers protect their vehicles from damage, theft and liability while protecting drivers. Owlcam is excited to usher in a new generation of video safety and security using and ultimately, give businesses peace of mind.”
Owlcam+ For Fleet Managers
Owlcam+ is designed for businesses and fleet managers who want video security integrated with fleet management and telematics such as: Driver metrics and reporting, geofencing and mapping, maintenance and diagnostics, asset tracking or electronic logging device (ELDs) or hours of service (HOS) tracking and compliance. Owlcam+ means innovative telematics providers can integrate video security with fleet telematics. Owlcam+ is currently available through leading fleet management partners.
Owlcam Pro for Professionals
For businesses and professional drivers who aren’t in need of fleet management tools, Owlcam Pro offers a simple way to buy, use and install video security in their vehicles. Owlcam Pro supports up to seven vehicles that drive up to 100,000 miles a year and includes a mobile app that lets business owners manage and view their fleet from their phone. The Owlcam Pro App was specially designed to deliver the video safety and security features small businesses need, including the ability to view vehicle location with driver confirmation, receive alerts when damage, break-ins and accidents are detected, and check in with Live View real-time video from anywhere with the option to view video history.
Furthermore, Owlcam Pro helps keep drivers safe with voice controls that enable hands-free video recording and Owlcam 911 Assist™, which connects a live operator to the Owlcam Pro to ask the driver if emergency services are needed.
Owlcam Pro will begin shipping on September 23 and is available for pre-order on Owlcam.com. Limited time pre-order pricing is $449, retail price will be $499. Owlcam Pro comes with three months of LTE data for free; data plans cost $29.99 per month after the first three months.
“Owlcam has built commercial-grade products to address the needs of businesses while enabling Fleet Management and Telematics partners to integrate AI-powered video technology into their services - unlocking a new generation of video telematics,” said Nathan Ackerman, Owlcam Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “With this expansion, we’re pleased to now be able to address 280 million vehicles in the North American market.”
Owlcam will be demonstrating the original best-selling Owlcam and unveiling both Owlcam Pro and Owlcam+ at the Great American Trucking Show on August 22-24, 2019 at booth #933 in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
