MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In approximately six hours, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s construction partners C.D. Smith Construction, International Chimney Corporation, and Expert House Movers moved a seven-story, 625-ton wall 35 feet towards a city street while remaining fully intact. The historic wall dates back to 1931 when the former Warner Grand Theater was built. The wall was moved in conjunction with the MSO’s current $89 million conversion of the former theater into its new performance hall, which is expected to open fall 2020. By pushing the wall back, the MSO can offer better visibility for patrons as well as fit the entire orchestra on stage.
