NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Skywire Networks, one of the fastest growing Internet builders in New York City, announced today that it has been selected by Success Academy Charter Schools, the largest charter school in NYC, to become its exclusive provider of internet services.
Success Academy currently operates 46 charter schools in NYC, with locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. Skywire Networks will be SACS’s exclusive internet service provider and will provide a dual path, fully diverse design for all 40 physical locations. Skywire will be providing a terrestrial fiber Ethernet circuit as one access path and an aerial Ethernet access path as a second circuit, thereby creating a unique and truly diverse internet network solution for SACS.
"We are incredibly excited to become the exclusive telecom access provider for Success Academy Charter Schools. With our extensive fiber capabilities and our expanding NYC aerial footprint which currently covers more than 39,000 commercial buildings, we are uniquely positioned to offer a truly diverse access solution to SACS,” said Darren Feder, President of Skywire Networks. “Unlike other carriers which offer a “diverse” fiber solution which generally runs through the same conduit into a building, Skywire’s diversity solution includes a terrestrial fiber path via the street and an aerial path via the roof.”
“Deploying a high quality, fast and reliable internet network is a critical need for all SACS schools. With the dual path network designed in collaboration with Skywire, we will be able to achieve our objectives of educational continuity in the classroom, and consolidate our internet network to one trusted service provider throughout NY, while also significantly reducing our overall costs,” said Stefan Semo, Director of IT for Success Academy.
Skywire Networks works extensively both with the channel community and directly with large enterprises to offer this dual path multisite design.
