Datadog Announces Support for Amazon EventBridge

NEW YORK--()--Datadog, a monitoring and analytics platform for modern cloud environments, today announced support for the newly launched Amazon EventBridge from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Amazon EventBridge is a serverless event bus service that allows AWS, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and custom applications to communicate with each other using events. Amazon EventBridge simplifies the building and management of event-driven applications by managing event ingestion and delivery, security, authorization, and error-handling. Amazon EventBridge removes the need to manage infrastructure or scaling, and users only pay for the events their application consumes.

Datadog's monitoring platform allows users to route triggered alerts to notification channels with rich contextual information about the alert. With Amazon EventBridge, customers can route these alerts into an event bus with minimal configuration or setup required. Once Datadog alerts are sent to Amazon EventBridge, customers can use the information within the alert event to execute auto-remediation pipelines and runbooks, and run analytics queries, using the 17 supported target AWS services, including AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, and more.

“We’re excited to support Amazon EventBridge to make it easier for our customers to use Datadog alerts with AWS services,” said Daniel Langer, Product Manager at Datadog. “Managing the proliferation of events and alerts is a major challenge in cloud environments, and Amazon EventBridge empowers users to handle this challenge.”

“AWS customers are increasingly adopting event-driven architectures to rapidly deliver business critical applications,” said David Richardson, Vice President, Serverless, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “Datadog’s monitoring and alerting capabilities paired with Amazon EventBridge will allow customers to power event-driven architectures.”

Datadog’s cloud monitoring platform brings together infrastructure metrics, application traces, log data, and synthetic monitoring, allowing enterprises to scale their cloud environments, troubleshoot potential issues, and provide their customers with superlative digital experiences. Datadog supports a wide range of AWS services, and is a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN).

“We are excited for Datadog’s support for the newly launched Amazon EventBridge service,” said Anatoly Mikhaylov, Staff Reliability Engineer at Zendesk. “By sending our Datadog alerts into Amazon EventBridge, we can automate steps in our infrastructure rightsizing process to more efficiently serve our customers.”
