Agora Cyber Charter School to Add Career Readiness Programs for Students Eager to Get a Jump Start on Their Future Careers

School Will Provide Online Classes in 3 Career Fields to Better Prepare Students For What Employees Need Most in Pennsylvania

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--()--Agora Cyber Charter School (Agora), a tuition-free online public charter school in the state of Pennsylvania serving students K-12, is launching a career readiness program to give high school students the skills and resources necessary to be successful in a future career.

According to the National Skills Coalition, “middle-skill jobs,” those that require education beyond high school, but may not require a four-year degree, make up the largest part of the Pennsylvania job market, with “key industries unable to find enough sufficiently trained workers to fill these jobs.”

Agora seeks to help the future workforce needs in PA by offering 20 career pathway course concentrations within three highly in-demand fields in Pennsylvania. For students interested in Business Management and Administration, they can take courses in administrative support, general management entrepreneurship, marketing communications, business finance, and hospitality.

Students who want to learn more about Information Technology are exposed to coursework in networking, cybersecurity, gaming design, web and digital communication, digital design, and programming. With 9 pathways, the Health and Human Services field offers courses in medical and dental assisting, nursing assisting, pharmacy tech, sports medicine, medical billing and coding, medical transcription, education and training, and legal and law enforcement.

“Being able to provide this direct pipeline from education to life after Agora is an invaluable tool and we love being on the cutting edge of new programs,” said Dr. Michael Conti, CEO of Agora. “Time and again we’ve heard how a spark from one of our classes led to a future career, so to be able to open even more pathways is incredible. As students graduate, they’ll be even better prepared to either move on to more schooling or begin their careers.”

Agora provides all students with the opportunity to engage in a personalized, innovative, intensive academic preparation model that inspires and educates students to achieve a high level of knowledge and skill.

Agora is now accepting enrollments for the 2019-2020 school year. More information on career readiness education at Agora, and upcoming events, can be found at the Agora CRE page, or by calling toll-free 844-462-4672.
