With a doctorate from the Free University of Brussels and post-doctorate from Caltech and backgrounds in engineering and applied sciences, Achkire brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the semiconductor, solar, and medical industries. At Sotera he will assume responsibility for the R&D, operations, quality and regulatory organizations.

Prior to Foxconn, he was the Co-founder, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Zap Surgical Systems, where he led technology and manufacturing from development and conceptual design to production of an FDA-approved revolutionary high precision medical radiosurgery device to treat pathology of the head and neck.
