GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Palmetto Technology Group (PTG), a market leader in small to mid-sized business IT support and managed services, announced today that its Ready, Set, Go interactive training course is now available for Microsoft Teams.
Teams adoption in the business sector is growing fast. Spiceworks discovered in December of 2018 that 21 percent of businesses are using Teams, up from 3 percent in 2016.
PTG, a Microsoft Gold-certified partner, launched its Ready, Set, Go Microsoft Teams training to meet this growing need and remove anxiety over learning a new platform as a hindrance to wider adoption.
Within the Ready, Set, Go framework, a PTG trainer first presents an introductory lesson that goes over groups, permissions, compliance, and configuration of Teams. In the “Set” phase, a “Champions” team is established so that the business can interact with the platform in a real-time demo environment. In the final “Go” phase of training, Teams is gradually handed over to the business while a project lead from PTG monitors progress and answers enrollee questions within a dedicated Teams channel.
“Microsoft Teams is the best hub for teamwork in Microsoft Office 365,” said Reed Wilson, founder, president and CEO of PTG. “Workers who receive training on how to maximize their use of Teams collaborate more effectively and engage more at work.”
Even though this training offer is new, registrations have already began. Because Teams is free to use with Office 365, many businesses are willing to invest in an in-depth yet quick-start training course that will:
- Speed up the migration process of users from Skype or Slack to Teams.
- Create Teams champions within the org who can learn from the training and use their knowledge to teach new hires.
- Ensure that Teams is set up properly with permissions and compliance concerns specific to organizations’ industry and business structure.
Participants in PTG’s pilot Teams training course benefited from the personal attention and interactive instruction that takes place within the Teams environment.
“The sessions are great, and the trainer is always available between them to answer our questions,” said Steve Johnson, COO, Grandview Corp., a PTG Teams training participant in February 2019.
“Business owners have told us that while Microsoft Teams comes at no additional cost for Microsoft Office 365 customers, investing in staff training on the platform maximizes the success of Teams as a meeting and collaboration hub,” said Mike Ammerlaan, Director, Microsoft Office 365 Ecosystem at Microsoft Corp.
