Silberstein, M.D., as its new editor in chief.
Silberstein is a professor of neurology and director of the Jefferson Headache Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital who lectures extensively on the pathogenesis, neurobiology, diagnosis and treatment of headache.

As one of the leading experts in neurology, Silberstein brings more than 40 years of distinguished medical service to the role. He has been certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties in headache medicine and has been named a “Top Doc” by Philadelphia Magazine and awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Headache Society, among more than a dozen other awards.
Silberstein received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing a fellowship in neurology at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London, Silberstein served as a pharmacology research associate in the Toxicology Laboratory of Clinical Science at the National Institutes of Mental Health in Maryland and completed a neurology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Among his long list of accolades, Silberstein has held multiple editorial and advisory board responsibilities for major headache, migraine and pain publications, and has authored or co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. A fellow of the American Headache Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American College of Physicians, he has also been a long-serving member and previous past president of the American Headache Society and has co-chaired the society’s annual scientific meeting.
