Women in Manufacturing Announces Launch of Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame

CLEVELAND--()--The Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) today announced the creation of the first-ever Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame, which will induct its inaugural class in 2020, seeks to recognize women who have made exceptional contributions to the manufacturing industry and to the advancement of women in the field.

“Throughout history, women have too often been the unsung heroes of the U.S. manufacturing sector,” said WiM Founder and President Allison Grealis. “The Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame is a unique initiative dedicated to permanently bringing women vanguards in our industry into the spotlight and celebrating them for their accomplishments.”

WiM is the only national trade association dedicated to year-round support for women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing sector. The inaugural inductees to the Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame will be announced at the 2020 WiM SUMMIT, the organization’s tenth annual conference.

“We are looking forward to marking our tenth anniversary with this special celebration of the women who paved the way for today’s – and tomorrow’s – women leaders in our industry,” continued Grealis.

WiM will accept nominations for candidates for the Hall of Fame from members and nonmembers alike, beginning in the Fall of 2019. More information about the nomination and selection process is available on the WiM website.

Nominees should stand out for their innovations in and contributions to the manufacturing field as well as their work to encourage more women to seek opportunities in manufacturing and their dedication to advancing the careers of other women. See a full list of nomination criteria on the WiM website.

“For nearly a decade, WiM has been committed to ensuring that women are well represented and strongly supported in the manufacturing industry,” said WiM Board Chair and American Crane & Equipment Corp. Executive Vice President Karen Norheim. “The creation of the Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame is another step toward creating a world in which women are recognized for their legacy of leadership in our industry. We’re looking forward to saluting the women who have made manufacturing the diverse and rewarding industry that it is today.”

Women in Manufacturing is a national association that supports, promotes, and inspires women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry. Encompassing more than 2,000 individual members and nearly 900 manufacturing companies, WiM includes manufacturers of all types and welcomes individuals from the shop floor to the C-Suite.
