VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RealWear, Inc., the industrial hands-free knowledge transfer platform for frontline workers, today announced the release of HMT Release 10. The upgrade is the company’s most significant software experience upgrade since launching its flagship HMT-1 hands-free headworn computer in 2017. In addition to hundreds of feature enhancements, the upgrade brings Android 8.1 security to the voice-controlled platform.
“With the arrival of HMT Release 10, we have taken the hands-free user experience to the next level for our industrial customers,” said Sanjay Jhawar, Cofounder, President and Chief Product Officer at RealWear. “By incorporating greater use of head motion tracking and combining this closely with RealWear’s highly interactive noise-robust voice recognition, the system has become even more fluid while remaining 100% hands-free.”
“The new security and UX capabilities included in RealWear’s HMT Release 10 provide an extremely compelling value proposition that will attract more software providers and customers to RealWear’s growing ecosystem,” said J.C. Kuang, an industry analyst at Greenlight Insights. “By emphasizing intuitive hands-free control and embracing voice interface as the key control modality in future AR devices, platforms such as HMT-1 will empower workers to perform tasks more efficiently while mitigating risk to users from hazardous or taxing environments.”
According to a 2018 survey by Kaspersky Lab and PAC, 77% of companies believe their organization is likely to become the target of a cybersecurity incident. The survey was based on 320 professionals representing companies from such sectors as manufacturing and industrial production, energy, mining, transport, and logistics.
“Our goal is to have zero friction between the work and the information you need to get the job done fast,” continued Jhawar. “This major upgrade reflects the feedback of nearly 1000 enterprise customers that have purchased the HMT-1 since our initial launch, demonstrating our commitment to strongly support the platform over a period of several years.”
Jhawar continued: “RealWear is laying the foundation for large-scale deployments, where security and usability are critical requirements for purchasing devices at volume.”
HMT Release 10 includes:
Enhanced Usability
Redesigned user interface, hands-free voice keyboard and file management system, focused on ease of use, productivity and ability to manage large volumes of information.
Fortified Security with Android 8.1 OS
