HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CDK Global, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDK), a leading retail automotive technology company, together with the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD), announced today that the third annual Fueling Careers scholarship program is now accepting applications. The scholarship program was established to support talented minority high school students who are dependents of dealership employees and who demonstrate financial need in their pursuit of a college education.
The Fueling Careers Scholarship Program, funded by CDK Global, will award up to five $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors entering an accredited college or university. NAMAD members will have the opportunity to select dealership employees to participate in the program.
“CDK Global has taken this unique multi-year opportunity to impact the future of the automotive industry by supporting its dealer families through their college-bound students,” said Tony Graham, vice president, sales, enterprise accounts, CDK Global. “While the impact of these young contributors is still years ahead of us, we are hopeful for the promise they bring to our industry and the communities they serve.”
CDK Global introduced the program in 2017, with a three-year pledge that includes $150,000 in scholarship funding. In its final year, the initiative demonstrates the shared commitment of CDK Global and NAMAD to help build strong leaders and a strong pipeline of minority talent for the next generation.
“Ensuring continued talent development within the minority dealer community is a priority for NAMAD and its strategic partners,” said Irving Matthews, chairman, NAMAD. “The three-year scholarship commitment from CDK is shaping the industry for dealer families and their children, providing stability, hope and promise for the future.”
The scholarship application and award process will be managed by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), and award recipients will be selected based upon both academic merit and financial need. High school students of dealership employees will complete an online application and must satisfy all eligibility requirements. Applications and program information can be found at https://aim.applyISTS.net/CDK/. Applications will be accepted through May 10, 2019. Scholarship winners will be recognized at the NAMAD conference in Miami this July.
