Today at the Open Compute Project Global Summit in San Jose, Rambus is demonstrating its collaboratively developed hybrid memory research platform with Alpha Data, IBM, Wistron, and Xilinx. The prototype system leverages memory on OpenCAPI, as a first step in creating a flexible platform to enable the research of new memory types in real-world environments. Targeting one of the industry’s key performance challenges, this collaboration aims to research and optimize the use of DRAM and emerging storage-class memories for real-world environments.
This high-density and high-capacity OpenCAPI-based prototype platform is designed to give architects the freedom to choose advanced technologies that will increase the ability to more fully utilize CPU resources—helping to maximize performance, optimize latency and reduce costs, while also driving innovation.
Join Rambus at the OpenCAPI Foundation Booth #A29 to view this new prototype platform or schedule a meeting with one of our experts to discover more about Rambus solutions for memory applications. Also, stop by the OpenPOWER Consortium Booth at #A30 to learn more about the OpenPOWER ecosystem.
