West is a former Colorado Assistant Attorney General and Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) Industrial Hemp Program Manager.

As the Industrial Hemp Program Manager for the CDA, West oversaw the day-to-day operations, developed procedures and protocols for a rapidly expanding hemp program and executed compliance procedures. Prior to her CDA appointment, West was a Colorado Assistant Attorney General for more than 15 years where she served as general counsel and chief litigator for multiple state boards and offices.
