Two Online Public Schools Invite Tennessee Students to Enroll for 2019-20 School Year

MAYNARDVILLE, Tenn.--()--Tennessee students seeking a new choice in public education are invited to submit an application for enrollment in Tennessee Virtual Academy (TNVA) and Tennessee Virtual High School (TNVHS). Both schools—which are full-time, tuition-free online public schools of the Union County Public School system—are now enrolling for the 2019-20 school year.

TNVA and TNVHS serve students across the state in grades K-8 and 9-11, respectively. The schools offer students and families a high-quality, personalized learning experience. A combination of online instruction, a rigorous and engaging curriculum, and the support of state-certified teachers help students reach their full potential.

Students take a full course load across the core subjects of language arts, history, math and science, and are offered electives in art and music. TNVHS also offers a variety of honors courses and electives including world languages, health and wellness, and fine arts.

“At TNVA, we are committed to creating an environment in which students come to class—not because they have to but because they want to learn,” said Jennifer Havens, TNVA’s head of school. “Our teachers and staff work closely with families to ensure students cultivate a passion for learning that carries them through high school and beyond.”

Students choose online school for a variety of reasons including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and a schedule that allows for extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. TNVA and TNVHS’s online platform gives students the freedom to pursue their academic goals in a safe, supportive environment and at an appropriate pace for their learning style. From live classes and one-on-one instruction to chat sessions and family phone calls, dedicated teachers work in close partnership with parents and students to support academic success.

Throughout the year, TNVA and TNVHS also foster a sense of community by bringing students and staff together for in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social events, and by organizing virtual clubs around shared interests.

Families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the schools. To learn more about enrollment and for a schedule of information sessions visit k12.com/how-to-enroll, or download the K12 enrollment app for iOS and Android devices.
