New York Fashion Tech Lab Marks 50th Lab Company Milestone with Sixth Cohort

Eight Women-led startups Join the 2019 Lab supported by PVH Corp, Levi Strauss & Co. and Foot Locker, along with Nine Returning Program Partners support 2019 program

NEW YORK--()--The New York Fashion Tech Lab (NYFTLab), the leading Fashion- Tech innovation lab, announced the eight women-led tech companies selected for its sixth program. Since 2014, the program has been at the forefront of retail and fashion technology innovation and integration. This year, the participating lab companies, hand selected by the retail, fashion and technology partners, will focus on solving retails biggest challenges through the use of AR, last mile delivery, advanced consumer rewards, integrated video and robotics.

“We’ve sourced technology for the retail industry to meet the powerful consumer expectations that continue to shift the industry on a daily basis,” said Kay Koplovitz, Co-Founder of the Lab and Chairman of Springboard Enterprises. “Our success can be seen in the collaborations that continue between the companies and retailers we bring together well beyond the time in our program. As we announced at Demo Day last year, we’re setting our sights on expansion, and look to share this success with the leading fashion retail partners in new markets soon.”

Returning to work with this year’s lab class are NYFTLab Founding Members LVMH, and Macy’s, Inc., as well as multi-year partners Kohl’s, MATCHESFASHION.COM, Perry Ellis International, and Tory Burch. New to the program for 2019 are PVH Corp, Levi Strauss & Co, and Foot Locker who look to add their unique perspective.

Also returning are NYFTLab’s unparalleled technology partners, Accenture and Avery Dennison for their second year, and Microsoft for its fourth. All partners will work with the lab companies to enable iteration, validation, and acceleration of their technologies to advance their businesses and the industry.

The program involves a working collaboration between the Lab companies and iconic fashion retailers, brands, technology partners and well-known industry experts. The sixth cohort showcases a range of technologies, expressly developed by women-led companies, designed to improve the customer experience and retailers’ overall businesses.

The 2019 Lab will again be in residence at Spring Place: A collaborative workspace and membership club connecting a community of global professionals and entrepreneurs.

The program will culminate with Tech Runway Demo Day on Thursday, June 13th, 2019 with InStyle at Meredith Corporation in New York.
