SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Polly today announced the closing of a funding round of $7 million led by Madrona Venture Group with participation from existing seed investors, the Slack Fund, Amplify Partners, and Fathom Capital. Polly provides companies using work collaboration platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams, a way to quickly collect feedback with integrated surveys. With Polly, these companies can measure their workflows and iterate to improve employee and customer experiences. The company will use the new funds to expand the product and go-to-market teams.
“Polly fills a need that teams across an entire organization have. They want to understand how employees are working together, what they think the right direction for a product or process is, and how well the company is working as a whole,” said co-founder and CEO, Samir Diwan. “We have been gratified to see that enterprises looking to move quickly across a broad range of functions have chosen Polly to measure the success of their workflows in real time. We tripled our user base in 2018 and launched our Enterprise version which has surpassed internal expectations - we are excited to continue to build on this success for our customers.”
“The Polly team has taken a simple idea – surveys inside of Slack – and created a whole new way of collecting people-powered data on modern communication platforms,” commented Sudip Chakrabarti, Partner, Madrona Venture Group. “As modern workflows move to real-time messaging platforms, Polly enables enterprises to get a holistic picture of their customers, employees, product and brand. Samir and Bilal are leading a team passionate about making work better and we look forward to supporting them on their journey.” As part of the funding, Chakrabarti joins the company’s board of directors.
Platforms like Slack have changed not just how teams communicate with each other but how they get work done in an organization in real time. Increasingly, teams are moving every aspect of their work into these platforms. Polly enables anyone managing a process, from managers to SVPs, to trigger surveys from data, tools, and workflows that are converging in Slack. In traditional work environments, this type of information would take months to collect and process into reports. With Polly, teams are able to instantly see results and iterate to improve workflow, employee, or customer experiences.
In 2018, Polly launched Polly for Enterprises in Slack, giving large companies the ability to collect and aggregate feedback across the organization, enterprise-level security and compliance, and robust controls for user management and permissions. Companies that require tight feedback loops are quickly adopting Polly across IT, engineering, product development, and HR departments. Microsoft Teams and Google Hangout users can also use the free version of Polly for their teams.
Customers such as Pure Storage use Polly to connect important processes and teams within their organizations. “We use ServiceNow and Slack to manage many of our IT workflows and, until we found Polly, we had to bridge that gap manually. Within two weeks, we had Polly up and running and on week three we were able to share our customer satisfaction scores with management. Polly is now essential to our IT department. Employees love it, and the data Polly generates helps us continuously improve the service we provide our employees. Polly is a win-win for us,” said Anne Aviles, Director IT Service Delivery, Pure Storage.
