GAINESVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Foresight, a full-service construction firm headquartered in Gainesville, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and successful transition from an emerging startup to an established industry leader with a strong history of successful project completions and a diverse portfolio across the Southeastern United States and Caribbean. Foresight’s president and CEO, Juan Segarra, founded the firm in 2008 offering general contracting for education clients and soon added construction management and design-build services for government, military, healthcare, institutional and commercial clients.
The firm has regional offices in Jacksonville and Tampa and is showing rapid growth across all three locations. In response to the company’s growth, Foresight is expanding its corporate headquarters in Gainesville and relocating to a newly renovated 11,000 sq. ft. facility in the first quarter of this year.
Foresight’s footprint has expanded beyond Florida with contracts in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. Most recently, the firm was awarded a Multiple Construction Contract with NASA and is currently executing on projects at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. In addition to growth across the Southeastern United States, Foresight is gaining market share overseas, recently securing three new federal contracts in Puerto Rico in support of reconstruction efforts related to damage caused by Hurricane Maria. The firm has previously completed projects abroad in the Bahamas, Nevis and Cuba.
“We’re pleased with the traction we’re seeing in each one of our markets. We see market expansion as a viable long-term growth strategy for our firm,” said Segarra. “Being clear on who we are as a company and staying laser-focused on servicing our niche has been a big driver in our success.”
The firm holds continuing services contracts with many of its institutional clients and continues to grow significantly in the federal sector, including long-term contracts with the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Southeast (NAVFAC SE), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District, the U.S. Air Force and NASA. Foresight is also gaining share in the healthcare market with clients including UF Health, USF Health, Moffitt Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic and Tampa General Hospital.
The next ten years will be marked by opportunities for growth and market expansion, as well as great opportunities for Foresight employees and clients. “The heart of this company is to be here long term — to create opportunities, help people grow, provide excellent service to our clients and make an impact in the lives of the people we serve,” Segarra said.
