RiskSense CEO to Discuss the Transformative Impact of Data Science on Cyber Security at Upcoming AIOps Expo

In Solo and Expert Panel Sessions, Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala will Explain How Hackers are using AI and Why an “Attacker’s Approach” is Needed to Protect IT Assets

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--RiskSense®, Inc., pioneering risk-based vulnerability prioritization and management, today announced that CEO, Srinivas Mukkamala, Ph.D. will present both a solo session and participate in an expert panel at the AIOps Expo on January 30 and 31 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

WHO:

Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, co-founder and CEO of RiskSense, is a recognized expert on artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks. He was part of a think tank that collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on applying these concepts to cybersecurity problems. Dr. Mukkamala was also a lead researcher for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S.) and holds a patent on Intelligent Agents for Distributed Intrusion Detection System and Method of Practicing.

WHAT:

Solo session: The Security Threat That AI Presents

3:30-3:55pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Both AI and machine learning (ML) are being deployed by organizations to identify and combat cybersecurity threats. However, hackers are also using data science techniques to target and launch attacks faster, and with greater effectiveness. In this talk, Dr. Mukkamala will demonstrate how AI can be used to mimic a human hacker and detect vulnerabilities at scale. He will explain how this “attacker’s approach” can be used to predict attack susceptibility, validate the exploitability of vulnerabilities, assess if security controls can mitigate imminent threats, and quantify risk based on diagnostic and operational data. Finally, he will discuss how this approach can increase cyber security resilience.

Expert Panel: Transforming Security and IT to Stop Attacks in Their Tracks

3:00-3:55 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019

Moderator: Gary Kim, IP Carrier

Panelists:

Srinivas Mukkamala, RiskSense
Nick Bilogorskiy, Juniper Networks
Stan Black, Citrix
Bishnu Nayak, FixStream
Rebekah Wilke, Swimlane

In this expert panel discussion, Dr. Mukkamala will discuss how AI and ML are transforming both cyber threats and defense capabilities. He will explain the value of using AI along with human intelligence, and share use cases that illustrate how organizations were able to use this approach to avoid being victimized by last year’s major cyber security pandemics including WanaCry, SamSam and others.

WHEN:

Wednesday and Thursday, January 30 and 31 (see above for times)

WHERE:

AIOps Expo at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
