WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtru, a leading innovator in enterprise data protection and data privacy solutions, has named Neville Letzerich as its new chief marketing officer (CMO). Letzerich brings more than 20 years of enterprise software marketing, sales and product experience to the role. He will support Virtru’s next phase of global expansion in the enterprise data privacy sector, scaling the reach and impact of the company’s brand and delivering world-class go-to-market execution.
Over the last two decades, Letzerich has held a wide variety of market-facing and product development roles in companies of all sizes, from startups to multibillion dollar organizations. He is well-versed in data-centric, zero-trust security concepts and creating compelling narratives to communicate key benefits to global audiences. Letzerich most recently served as the CMO at Duo Security through their acquisition by Cisco. Previously, as CMO of cybersecurity provider Forcepoint LLC (formerly Websense), Letzerich oversaw global marketing efforts across 150 countries. He also served in executive leadership positions in global marketing, sales, product, and engineering teams at EMC Corporation where he worked extensively on document and data privacy initiatives.
“Neville’s ability to communicate crucial technology and security concepts and his genuine passion for data privacy fit well with our mission,” said John Ackerly, chief executive officer at Virtru. “Over the course of his career, Neville has shown that he can deliver quantifiable results to help technology companies reach their growth goals. This makes him the right choice to lead Virtru’s marketing organization as we expand into new markets.”
Letzerich’s appointment is the latest milestone for the data privacy innovator. In December 2018, the company added Chief Social Scientist, Dr. Andrea Little Limbago, to the senior management team. In July of the same year, Virtru announced a new partnership with Google that enables end-to-end encryption for Google Drive. And in May, the company closed a $37.5 million round of Series B funding, led by Iconiq Capital.
“Data privacy is one of the most challenging issues individuals, national governments and international businesses face on a daily basis,” said Neville Letzerich, chief marketing officer of Virtru. “I’m inspired by the smart, dedicated Virtru team, and look forward to using all my skills and experience to help businesses take back control of their data.”
