GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SpartanNash (Nasdaq: SPTN) announced today that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Martin's Super Markets, Inc. ("Martin's"), a leading family-owned and operated Midwest independent supermarket chain. The transaction closed on December 31, 2018, which is the first day of SpartanNash’s first fiscal quarter of 2019. Under the terms of the agreement, SpartanNash acquired 21 Martin’s Super Markets, eight Fuel Centers, 17 in-store pharmacies, a pharmacy at Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka (IN), a Martin's Express convenience store in South Bend (IN) and a Side Door Café at Elkhart General Hospital. SpartanNash will provide additional guidance to the investor community in its fourth quarter 2018 earnings announcement to be released February 19, 2019.
