MARTINSVILLE, Va.--()--Carter Bank & Trust (OTCQX:CARE) announced today that its director of regulatory risk management, Loran Adams, has been promoted to executive vice president. Adams joined Carter Bank & Trust in January 2017 as senior vice president.

Adams has three decades of internal auditing and risk management experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining Carter Bank & Trust, he was the director of internal audit for George Bank and Trust in Augusta, Georgia.

Adams earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina. He is a member of the Virginia Bankers Association’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee and frequent conference speaker on various risk management and leadership topics.
