NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cheddar, the leading post cable networks company, and Magic Leap, the leader in spatial computing, today announced the first live business and headline news application on Magic Leap One Creator Edition. The free application is available now for download in Magic Leap World on-device.
Cheddar’s news networks are available immediately on Magic Leap World as live video news screens, that can be placed anywhere in the user’s room. Users will be able to pin a hovering live Cheddar news screen while performing other work or entertainment activities in the Magic Leap environment.
“Magic Leap is the leader in spatial computing. No one is even close. We are excited to bring streaming news to the platform and work closely with their team in the coming years to define news in this space,” said Jon Steinberg, founder and CEO of Cheddar.
“Cheddar’s innovative approach to programming & storytelling, coupled with Magic Leap’s spatial computing technology, will make it possible to tell more immersive and compelling tales in this new medium. As a fan, I couldn’t be more excited to have Cheddar now available natively on our platform,” said Rio Caraeff, Chief Content Officer, Magic Leap.
Over time, the teams will work together on volumetric video broadcasts available on-demand and live, as well as on esports news coverage via Cheddar’s “Cheddar Sports.”
