NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cheddar, the leading post-cable networks company, tomorrow will premiere a new weekly program called Cheddar @ Home, a half-hour show airing on Cheddar Tuesdays at 5pm ET. The show is a partnership with leading smart home technology company Resideo (NYSE:REZI), maker of a broad array of home automation software and products that carry the trusted Honeywell Home brand, and will explore the intersection of technology and smart living.
For the show, Cheddar built a smart, tiny home to showcase how modern smart technology can meet the needs of people living in all kinds of spaces, from dorm rooms to mansions. The tiny home that will be seen in the show made its first public appearance at the New York Stock Exchange in October, as part of Resideo’s debut. Resideo’s Dean Acosta, Bruce Eric Anderson and Sarah Reckard worked closely with Cheddar’s Caitlin Monaghan, Elyssa Starkman, and Emily Hart from conceptualization, and construction, to show production.
“Tiny homes have been an obsession on TV for years, but this will be the first time you see smart technology play a role. Only Resideo and Cheddar could create a show around a tiny smart home, and run it on all the modern platforms like Sling TV, Hulu, YouTube TV, and The Roku Channel,” said Jon Steinberg, Founder and CEO of Cheddar.
“We are pleased to be the title sponsor and co-creator of this newest Cheddar program. The tiny home represents a scaled-down model of Resideo’s vision of a smart home, simplified,” said Dean Acosta, chief communications officer, Resideo Technologies. “Professional contractors outfitted this tiny home with comfort, security and other behind-the-wall Resideo products to show how simple it can be for any of us to enjoy a transformative smart-home experience.”
Resideo is building on a 130-year heritage of making people feel safer, more secure, and more comfortable at home. Resideo already has a presence in more than 150 million homes, with 15 million systems installed in homes each year. The company has a long-term license to use the Honeywell Home brand for products and will continue to serve more than 100,000 contractors through its ADI Global Distribution business, which exports to more than 100 countries from more than 200 stocking locations around the world. Resideo is a $4.8 billion company with approximately 14,500 global employees.
