Canon Medical Enhances Its Comprehensive Ultrasound Liver Analysis Suite to Help Clinicians Deliver Accurate, Fast and Safe Liver Imaging

Contrast Vector Imaging Pending FDA Clearance for Premium Aplio i800

CHICAGO--()--Building on its comprehensive Liver Analysis Suite currently available on the Aplio™ i800 ultrasound system, today Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. introduces Contrast Vector Imaging (CVI) to provide additional information on Liver hemodynamics and expand the use of contrast enhanced ultrasound on its premium ultrasound system. CVI helps visualize vascular structure inside lesions by tracking individual contrast bubbles and analyzing the direction and velocity of each bubble to help support a more confident diagnosis. The new tool has the potential to help clinicians better see complex lesion vascular networks, see clear delineation of feeding vessels with quantifiable perfusion and direction information.

The launch of CVI enhances the Aplio i800’s comprehensive Liver Analysis Suite and equips clinicians with premium diagnostic imaging tools to facilitate the analysis of liver disease. In addition to CVI and Shear Wave Elastography imaging, the suite includes Attenuation Imaging (ATI) and Shear Wave Dispersion (SWD), two exclusive features that allow health care providers to visualize and quantify tissue attenuation and dispersion slope, which is a property related to tissue viscosity, for a more comprehensive evaluation of the liver.

“Canon Medical continues to expand our comprehensive liver assessment package to provide valuable solutions to the growing epidemic of liver disease,” said Dan Skyba, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. “Our robust Liver Analysis Suite is comprised of advanced tools that help analyze different disease states in the liver and can help clinicians determine the best treatment plan. The introduction of Contrast Vector Imaging takes our offering one step further by providing added imaging detail for a confident diagnoses.”

The premium Liver Analysis Suite on the Aplio i-series will be showcased at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, November 25 – 30, 2018 (Booth #1938, South Level 3). More information is also available here.
