Riverbed REACH OUT Week celebrates its third year. It began after a successful pilot program in 2016 at Riverbed’s headquarters in San Francisco where more than 200 employees volunteered at five local charities, and in 2017 more than 600 Riverbed employees performed 1,500 hours of community service at 30 local charitable organizations in 15 of the Company’s largest global locations. This year’s global expansion will increase the amount of community service by more than 30 percent provided by employees during Riverbed REACH OUT Week, and compliments company volunteer and fundraising efforts that take place at Riverbed throughout the year. Projects in 2018 range from cleaning and decorating homeless shelters, helping to build or paint homes, sorting food at local food banks or for holiday care packages, tutoring children and assisting at soup kitchens.
“Community service and sustainability programs that make a positive impact in the world on a global and local level are deeply rooted in Riverbed’s DNA and our company purpose,” said Paul Mountford, CEO of Riverbed. “It is with great pride that we enter our third year of our week-long community service effort known as Riverbed REACH OUT, as we strive to make a meaningful difference by supporting charitable organizations that help people in need and those underserved in our communities.”
“With the holidays approaching, we need all the help we can get to deliver nutritious food to our neighbors in need. It’s comforting to know that we’ll once again have our friends from Riverbed assisting us in the warehouse as part of their REACH OUT week,” said Paul Ash, Executive Director at San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. “Our long-standing partnership with Riverbed has made a world of a difference for the people we serve, and for that we are grateful.”
As part of REACH OUT Week, Riverbed will also donate approximately 100 laptops to RRRcomputer.org. “RRRcomputer.org encourages corporations and individuals to donate rather than recycle their computers,” said Hue Mach, Founder of RRRComputer. “We then refurbished them to give to low income kids for education and after school programs. I am very excited Riverbed is participating in this program and helping to make a positive difference for kids and schools.”
