Brett Brodnax Named CEO of USPI

Bill Wilcox Continues as Chairman of USPI and Vice Chairman of Tenet Healthcare

DALLAS--()--United Surgical Partners International (USPI), a subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare (NYSE: THC), today announced that Brett Brodnax, President and Chief Development Officer of USPI, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Brodnax, a 19-year veteran of USPI, succeeds Bill Wilcox, who will continue in his role as Chairman of USPI and as a Vice Chairman of Tenet Healthcare. Brodnax will report to Ron Rittenmeyer, Executive Chairman and CEO of Tenet Healthcare.

Wilcox said, “Brett’s appointment is well-deserved recognition of the great contributions and leadership he has provided to USPI during his nearly 20-year tenure. Among his many accomplishments, Brett helped to pioneer USPI’s partnership strategy, which has significantly contributed to the growth of the company and earned him deep respect among prominent health systems and physicians across the country. He has also worked to instill a culture of top-notch quality and service, which has afforded us much success as an organization.”

Brett Brodnax Biographical Information

Brodnax joined USPI in 1999 from Baylor Health Care System, after helping to establish a partnership among Baylor, USPI and local physicians. This three-way joint venture model has grown exponentially under Brodnax. During his tenure at the company, Brodnax has held a number of leadership positions, including serving as a Senior Vice President, an Executive Vice President and most recently as Chief Development Officer and President.

Brodnax graduated from Texas A&M University, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering. He also received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Texas at Dallas.
