Reid Canada, a Subsidiary of Consolidated Container Company, to Acquire Polybottle Group Limited and Humberline Packaging Inc. from ABC Group

ATLANTA--()--Reid Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated Container Company (CCC), has acquired Polybottle Group Limited and Humberline Packaging Inc. from ABC Group. With manufacturing facilities in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton, Polybottle and Humberline are leading manufacturers of plastic bottles for the food, beverage, automotive, and industrial and specialty chemical industries.

Sean R. Fallmann, President and Chief Executive Officer of CCC, said, “We welcome the employees of Polybottle and Humberline into the CCC family. These companies have great leadership teams and a strong reputation of consistently providing quality products and excellent customer service. This acquisition is another step in CCC’s North American growth strategy, in which we combine strategic asset acquisitions with new innovative products to better meet our customers’ needs.”

This acquisition, combined with the acquisition of Montreal based DeltaPac in the second quarter of this year, will be the foundation for CCC’s launch of its Dura-Lite® family of packaging for food, beverage, and industrial markets. “With this strong foundation in place, we are very excited at the opportunity to expand our operations in Canada and introduce our innovative Dura-Lite® family of bottles to new customers,” Fallmann added. Dura-Lite® is designed to use 10% to 25% less plastic than comparable traditional designs, while meeting or exceeding the key performance attributes of those traditional designs. With the addition of EcoPrime®, a recycled resin safe for food contact, customers will further strengthen their brand’s sustainability story.

To date, CCC has shipped over 300 million Dura-Lite® bottles to customers throughout the United States—including several national beverage manufacturers. Dura-Lite® containers are available in gallon, half-gallon, quart, and industrial round gallon sizes, presenting customers the opportunity to leverage a matched set of bottles with similar aesthetic features and improved performance characteristics. Dura-Lite® Industrial Gallon bottles are compatible with multiple neck finishes and have footprints specifically designed to work well in existing automotive, household cleaner, cooking oil, and beverage fill lines and downstream supply chains.
