SYRACUSE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of its commitment to helping people with autism and their families and increasing early intervention through early diagnosis, Quadrant Biosciences announced today that they will support Autism Speaks’ mission with funding to expand delivery of reliable information, resources and support through the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team.
Through this collaboration, Quadrant Biosciences and Autism Speaks will engage in a concerted effort to equip both healthcare providers and families with the education, confidence and tools they need on the journey from diagnosis to early intervention. The support from Quadrant Biosciences will bolster the non-profit organization’s Autism Response Team, which helps families with a series of comprehensive tool kits and access to personalized support following an autism diagnosis.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can affect a person’s communication abilities and social interaction, and often causes repetitive patterns of behavior and a narrow range of interests. According to the Centers for Disease Control, approximately one in 59 children in the U.S. is currently diagnosed with ASD, a tenfold increase in prevalence over the past 40 years. Research shows that early intervention can provide the best outcomes, so a timely diagnosis can help children with autism and their families at a critical stage along their new journey to have the best quality of life possible, no matter where the individual falls on the autism spectrum.
