Michael David Winery’s Adam Mettler Named Winemaker of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Wine Enthusiast’s 19th Annual Wine Star Awards Recognize Exceptional Individuals and Companies Across 16 Categories

LODI, Calif.--()--Wine Enthusiast Magazine announced today that Adam Mettler, Director of Wine Operations at Michael David Winery, has won the 2018 Winemaker of the Year Wine Star Award. Each year, the editors of Wine Enthusiast Magazine honor the individuals and companies that have made outstanding achievements in the wine and beverage world for the annual Wine Star Awards.

Adam Mettler is a 5th generation Lodi grape grower who worked various harvests, including a period in Australia, before joining Michael David Winery in spring of 2005. Working closely with the Phillips family for 14 years, Adam has built and led a quality-focused wine production team which continues to create award winning wines. Currently the Director of Wine Operations, Adam oversees all wine direction for Michael David Winery in both Lodi and Sonoma, and has been instrumental in the rapid growth of Michael David’s banner brands which include Freakshow, Earthquake and Petite Petit.
