Praetorian Digital Makes Mission-Critical Public Safety Content More Accessible, Secure with Move to AWS GovCloud

Praetorian’s proprietary learning management system (LMS) and user management platform have joined NSA, DHS, and other organizations in move to Amazon’s secure cloud for U.S. government data and infrastructure

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Praetorian Digital, the leading learning and content platform for public safety and local government, today announced the completion of its migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud (US) for its proprietary learning management system and user management platform. As an approved partner, all Praetorian clients and users across local government, law enforcement, fire rescue and emergency medical services will now benefit from a secure cloud-based hosting service designed specifically for U.S. government-regulated industries.

AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region, subject to FedRAMP High and Moderate baselines, and it allows customers to host sensitive Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and all types of regulated workloads. The region is operated by employees who are U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, and is accessible to vetted U.S. entities and root account holders.

By moving its data and products to GovCloud, Praetorian Digital joins a growing list of government agencies and private government-related companies, including the National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security, Lockheed Martin and other leading organizations.

AWS GovCloud enables customers to architect secure cloud solutions that comply with: the FedRAMP High baseline, the DOJ’s Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Security Policy, U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Department of Defense (DoD) Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) for Impact Levels 2, 4 and 5, FIPS 140-2, IRS-1075, and other compliance regimes.

“Moving to AWS GovCloud is a big win for the nearly 2,600 public safety agencies and other government offices that rely on our platform for workflow solutions, credential management and storage of critical training data. We recognize the importance of a reliable and secure technical environment in mitigating risk and improving performance to keep our communities safe,” said Alex Ford, CEO of Praetorian Digital. “This move upgrades our security and sends a clear message to our customers that we’re continuing to elevate our platforms and technical capabilities.”

Since AWS GovCloud is designed to host sensitive data, regulated workloads, and address the most stringent U.S. government security and compliance requirements, this infrastructure update reinforces Praetorian Digital’s standing as a leader in technical solutions for local government for years to come.
