PALM DESERT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sunrise Company today announced its acquisition of Andalusia Country Club in La Quinta. The purchase includes the club, the remaining residential land (approximately 250 more homes to build) and other real estate assets (including the undeveloped property west of Madison St.) from T.D. Desert Development L.P, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Drummond Company, a leader in the luxury country club market in the Coachella Valley. Inspired by the spirit and architecture of the Andalusia region of southern Spain, Andalusia Country Club boasts a championship Rees Jones golf course, nine spectacular lakes, grand views of the neighboring Santa Rosa Mountains and a spectrum of exquisitely designed homes. The Club offers a wide array of golf, fitness, tennis, pickleball and dining amenities, along with a full calendar of social and recreational events for members to enjoy.
“Sunrise Company is one of the desert region’s most respected luxury golf course community developers and Andalusia Country Club is one of the finest country club communities in the desert, so it was a perfect fit for us,” said Randall Bone, Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise Company. “Adding Andalusia to our portfolio allows us the opportunity to have a significant presence in La Quinta again. It is exciting to see what is happening in the thriving La Quinta market, and to be a part of the continued growth and success of the city.”
Since its founding in 1963, Sunrise Company has constructed over 16,000 homes and condominiums, co-developed two resort hotels, a luxury fractional ownership resort and developed 22 resort communities, numerous apartment buildings, office buildings, shopping centers and commercial hotels. Sunrise Company’s legacy of success in the Coachella Valley includes Toscana Country Club currently under development, and the completed communities of Indian Ridge Country Club, Palm Valley Country Club, The Lakes Country Club, Monterey Country Club, Rancho Las Palmas Country Club and Sunrise Country Club. Sunrise also co-developed the Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa, PGA West and Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa.
Andalusia Country Club, LLC., a Sunrise related company formed for Andalusia, will be the owner/operator of the Club. Andalusia Homes, Inc., another Sunrise related company, will manage the sales and homebuilding operations for the remaining real estate, and will assume the developer appointed director positions on the Homeowners’ Association. They will retain all the Andalusia employees, including its key management team of Nolan Sparks, Dale Campbell and John Cummings, to ensure a smooth transition between Drummond and Sunrise management.
“Sunrise Company is committed to working together with the current club members, homeowners and employees to create a club and community experience that honors the past traditions of the Drummond family, and encourages a vibrant and energetic future,” Bone said. “We look forward to playing an integral role in the next chapter of Andalusia Country Club.”
