BEVERLY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Renal Associates Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ARA) (“ARA” or the “Company”), a leading provider of outpatient dialysis services, today announced the launch of American Renal Clinical Research Services ("ARCRS"), an investigative site network.
ARCRS brings clinical research to as many patients with renal disease as possible while continuing to deliver exceptional clinical care. Led by ARA’s Vice President of Clinical Research Ann Mooney and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Don Williamson, ARCRS provides expertise in managing all elements of research specific to ESRD and CKD. The launch of ARCRS provides ARA’s physician partners and industry sponsors with the opportunity to bring cutting edge research to kidney care patients.
“The purpose, and goal, of ARCRS is to continue to advance the care of ESRD patients,” said Mooney. “We do this by helping our physician partners who are capable of conducting clinical research feel well guided in the process and protected with the structure and oversight we provide.”
Mooney came to ARA from Frenova Renal Research, a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care, where she played a primary role in establishing the research services group nearly 20 years ago. In addition to extensive renal research experience, Mooney has held a variety of professional roles in the renal setting, including serving as an in-center and acute care staff nurse, as well as a clinic manager. Dr. Williamson has more than 25 years of experience as a nephrologist and Principal Investigator. Dr. Williamson has extensive knowledge in developing and implementing clinical protocols.
In addition to Mooney and Dr. Williamson, Katie DiTomaso will be working alongside Mooney. She has held positions in renal research as a Clinical Trial Project Financial Manager and brings knowledge of clinical trial operations and study management.
Interested physicians attending ASN's Kidney Week 2018 can stop by ARA Booth #2219 to meet with the ARCRS team.
