BOCA RATON, Fla.--()--More than 30 children from Ecuador will receive orthopedic corrective surgeries they need during a charitable medical mission trip sponsored by Cross Country Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCRN) in partnership with Project Perfect World Foundation (PPW). In its sixth year, Cross Country Healthcare invited Kathleen Fodor, RN, an Operating Room (OR) nurse with the company’s Travel Nursing division, to attend this year’s mission trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador taking place the week of October 7 – 14, 2018.

As part of the mission’s medical team, Fodor will donate her time and nursing skills to assist surgeons from around the United States who are also donating their time. The team will perform pediatric orthopedic surgery on approximately 20-30 children at Roberto Gilbert Hospital.

Project Perfect World's mission is to improve the health of the world's children through medical intervention, mentoring with local medical colleagues and infrastructure development. Since 1995, PPW has funded at least two trips a year to perform maxillofacial, dental, and orthopedic surgery on children who would not otherwise be able to receive the care they need.

"We are incredibly honored to have built a long-term partnership with Project Perfect World, and further our commitment to improving patient care and quality of lives across the globe,” said William Burns, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cross Country Healthcare. “When our nurses return home and share their heart-warming stories, it reinforces our belief in the power and passion of quality healthcare professionals making a difference. Kathleen’s expertise and dedication to giving back makes her perfectly-suited to represent Cross Country Healthcare on this important mission.”

Fodor is an Operating Room (OR) nurse with more than 32 years of experience, including a similar mission trip abroad. She has been a travel nurse with Cross Country Healthcare since 2017 and has spent her entire career within the OR setting.
