CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW) today announced a global strategic alliance with AECOM, the world’s largest infrastructure services firm, bringing together two Fortune 200 companies to usher in digital transformation and Smart Cities on a global scale.
“This brings together best-in-class providers of technology infrastructure and physical asset infrastructure into one holistic offering to support the impending tsunami of global digital transformation initiatives,” said Aiden Mitchell, Arrow’s vice president and general manager of IoT global solutions.
This is the culmination of more than a year of collaboration pursuing Smart Cities initiatives throughout the United States and the broader examination of digital transformation initiatives throughout the world.
“This collaboration between Arrow and AECOM is expected to help meet head-on the growing demand for development of Smart City and digital transformation initiatives, as well as the desire to accelerate the delivery of these solutions into the markets we serve,” said Kirk Rabius, AECOM’s vice president of Asset Advisory within Design and Consulting Services. “This collaboration gives both companies the ability to vastly broaden services and solutions, as well as quickly scale within both AECOM’s and Arrow’s respective customer bases.”
According to a PwC report, “Capital Project and Infrastructure: Outlook to 2025,” global infrastructure spending is forecasted to exceed $9 trillion annually in 2025 and, in aggregate, exceed $60 trillion in spending between 2018 and 2025.
“To reduce risk and deliver optimized performance in this new data-driven world, we need to reexamine the way we develop, implement, and maintain our physical asset infrastructure – as well as the application of emerging technologies – to support its lifecycle and foster a mindset of sustainability, reliability, and resiliency,” Rabius said.
