FIT and Columbus Consulting Examine New Concepts in Retail During New York Seminar Series

COLUMBUS, Ohio--()--Columbus Consulting International announced today its continued support for the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Global Fashion Management (GFM) graduate program New York Seminar Series, which kicked off yesterday and continues through Oct. 3

For the third consecutive year, Columbus Consulting is a sponsor for the seminar series and with Elizabeth Elliott, managing partner, Columbus Consulting, speaking as part of the program. Columbus will also host a cocktail reception for participants, GFM alumni and industry professionals on the evening of Monday, Oct. 1.

The seminar series will explore new technology for the apparel industry, perspectives of sustainability, new concepts in retail technology, production and management, as well as retail change management through various presentations, tours and networking opportunities.

“The fashion industry continues to evolve as new retail models and technologies emerge to address shifting customer expectations,” said Elliott. “By continuing to collaborate with FIT, we’re able to provide future retail executives with the perspectives and skills they need to lead successful change management in their organizations as new technologies and processes are implemented to address industry transformation.”

To address this topic, Elliott will present “Change Management: An Executive Overview” during the week-long event.

“Through sponsorship of Elizabeth Elliott's presentation and the student, alumni, and industry professionals’ reception, Columbus Consulting continues to heighten the level of professional awareness and discussion on current and important topics in our industry, in addition to making it possible for the crucial exchange of ideas and strengthening of the network – a major objective of the Global Fashion Management program,” said Pamela Ellsworth, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Global Fashion Management, Fashion Institute of Technology. “The talent Columbus Consulting provides and the opportunity for students and alumni to connect, has become one of the most anticipated events of the program.”

About FIT’s Global Fashion Management Program

The Fashion Institute of Technology’s Global Fashion Management master’s program prepares emerging fashion executives for top managerial positions in the burgeoning international fashion industry. Offered by FIT in collaboration with Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong and Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, the program draws on an international faculty and the facilities and industry contacts of three major institutions on three continents. In intensive ten-day seminars held on each campus, students gain a broad understanding of the social, cultural, and economic factors influencing sourcing, manufacturing, and marketing in today's global economy. Graduates of the 18-month program receive an MPS in Global Fashion Management. Visit fitnyc.edu.
