NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pager, a healthcare technology and services company that connects people to care, announced today it has named health technology and managed care veteran Steven J. Shulman to its board of directors. In this role, Shulman will be a strategic advisor to Pager as it continues to advance its enterprise platform by enabling healthcare organizations to integrate their care solutions to deliver a seamless consumer experience.
Shulman has been widely recognized for his leadership, including being named one of the top chief executive officers in the managed care industry by Institutional Investor. Previously, Shulman acted as chairman and CEO of Magellan Health where he spearheaded the company’s success as a leading specialty healthcare management company. Shulman also led Prudential Health as the company’s chairman, president and CEO and founded Value Health, which was acquired by HCA Holdings. Shulman has held additional leadership roles at CIGNA and Kaiser Permanente.

Shulman is the former chairman of the board of directors for R1 RCM Inc., formerly named Accretive Health, Inc. and sits on the boards of HealthMarkets and VillageMD, among others.
