BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation will host a 20th Anniversary Celebration with a zero-waste, fully sustainable live auction benefit dinner on Sept. 15 to raise funds to support global efforts to address climate change and protect biodiversity.
The auction, available exclusively online on Invaluable.com, will take place on Sept. 15 at 9:30 p.m. PST. The full catalog is available here.
The auction will offer unique experiences, collectibles and fine art from noted artists including Ai Wei Wei, Richard Prince, David Hockney, Frank Gehry, Matthew Wong, The Haas Brothers and others. The catalog includes a major work by legendary artist Wayne Thiebaud entitled Mountain Split.
“To get a work of this scale and caliber from an artist as revered as Thiebaud is unprecedented,” said Lisa Schiff of SFA Advisory. “The artist has two shows opening at SFMoMA the week following our sale and anyone lucky enough to win this lot is getting something of incredible value.”
The 20th Anniversary Celebration in Sonoma, CA will be co-hosted by LDF Founder and Chairman Leonardo DiCaprio and Emerson Collective Founder Laurene Powell, whose star-studded group of chairs includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Madonna, Ellen DeGeneres and Robert Redford. The event is made possible through the generous support of Jackson Family Wines and title sponsors Bank of America and Tiffany & Co. Simon Shaw from Sotheby’s will serve as auctioneer.
“We are honored to have this auction on Invaluable and to support the causes championed by the Leonard DiCaprio Foundation (LDF),” said Rob Weisberg, CEO of Invaluable, the world’s leading online marketplace for fine art, antiques and collectibles. “LDF has made a real difference by raising funds for those working on the front lines of climate change and biodiversity. This auction is a way for all of us to join in these critically important efforts.”
