CANONSBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National League of Cities (NLC) and Utility Service Partners have renewed their partnership on the NLC Service Line Warranty Program that first launched in 2010. Utility Service Partners, a HomeServe Company, administers the program, which is the only service line warranty program endorsed by the NLC. The Program offers residents in participating cities the ability to purchase affordable emergency repair service plans that cover the portion of the outside water and waste lines that are the responsibility of the homeowner.
Over the past three years, more than 76,000 repairs have been completed through the NLC Service Line Warranty Program, saving residents millions in costly service line repairs. In the past year, 110 new municipalities have brought the program to their residents, thereby increasing the number of residents with access to the program by more than 650,000. Today, more than 475 cities and towns across the U.S. participate in the program.

Customers who sign up for the NLC Service Line Warranty Program have access to a 24-hour hotline and experienced, licensed contractors for the help they need in the event of a covered home repair emergency. The service plans include no deductibles, priority service and a one-year guarantee on all covered repairs.
Cities that participate in the program receive the benefit of increased homeowner awareness of their responsibilities. Through the program’s education efforts, there is an increased understanding that homeowners, not the city, are responsible for the water and sewer lines that connect their home to the municipal systems. This awareness decreases frustration during a home emergency and reduces the number of inquires to the city or utility about repairs. The program, offered at no cost to the city, also allows participating municipalities to choose sharing in the Program revenue, which can be used for other priorities, such as low-income assistance and affordability programs or local infrastructure improvement projects.
